If you feel like you’re guessing what products and how much of it to buy for your Amazon store, Inventory Planner can help you take control of your inventory. Using your store’s sales history, Inventory Planner provides sales forecasts and replenishment recommendations. Need to see what product lines are selling and what styles are in demand, use Inventory Planner’s reports to see what SKUs are making the best margins.
Here’s how it works:
Sales Forecasting
The forecast for your store is based on:
- Sales velocity – How many units does your store sell (excluding stockouts)
- Seasonality – Are sales steady from month to month or does demand peak during certain times of the year
- Sales trends – Are sales steadily increasing from month to month? Are they flat? For seasonal products, what were trends 12 months ago?
Inventory Planner takes into account up to three years of sales history to calculate the sales velocity for each SKU in your store. When you connect your Amazon Seller account to Inventory Planner, that data will automatically sync to compute the forecast.
Replenishment Recommendations
The sales forecast drives recommendations for replenishment to your inventory. These recommendations consider:
- Sales forecast – How much are you projected to sell?
- Current inventory level – How much of the SKU is in stock right now?
- Inventory on order – Has some product already been ordered? When is it projected to arrive?
- Lead time – How long will it take from placing a purchase order with your supplier until products are received into inventory?
Replenishment recommendations are automatically calculated for you to take all of these factors into account.
Customize reporting to see replenishment quantity, target date to reorder, how long until an item sells out, forecast lost revenue and more.

Amazon FBA + FBM
If you are selling both Amazon FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) and FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant), you may want to see forecast and make replenishment decisions by sales channel or for both channels at once. Inventory Planner can do that!
Viewing multiple sales channels and warehouses
When selling through FBA and FBM, it can be useful to create a combined warehouse so that you can build purchase orders incorporating forecasted sales from both channels.
When creating a combined warehouse, add stock and sales from both FBA and FBM.
Your new combined warehouse will now use sales history from both FBA and FBM and will create replenishment recommendations based on what is needed for both sales channels.
You can still see replenishment recommendations for FBA sales channel to see how many units need to be transferred to Amazon after you receive products from a supplier.
